Be prepared. Here are some ideas for keeping you and your loved ones prepared.
Create An Emergency Plan
- Know which disasters occur in your area
- Meet with household members, discuss how to respond to each disaster
- Pick one out of state and one local friend or relative for family members to call if separated
Create a Disaster Supplies Kit that Includes:
- Prescription medications – have written copy of the prescription
- A list of important family medical information – the style and serial number of medical devices such as pacemakers
- Credit cards and cash
- An extra pair of glasses
- Store supplies in an easy to carry container, e.g, backpack, duffel bag
